Outside Looking In.
Here’s the result of my recent work over these past months. An illustration about how nature and industry exist with each other, however awkward that relationship may be.

Structure 01
This was an attempt to combine the mechanical with the organic, mixing veiny sinew like material with mega structures. There’s some underlying cyberpunk stylings creeping through this piece, but i tried not to be too direct with that influence.

‘Disconnected’
Originally I had conceived this piece to be a lot simpler than it ultimately ended up being. Over the gradual course of its creation it developed into another large complex illustration, which continues to be a personal focal point.
Future plans include making some medium sized illustrations as well as a continuation of this series of mythical pieces. Stay tuned for updates..

‘Shattered Dreams/Shattered Illusions’
Here’s a new illustration I recently worked on which takes great influence from mythology, dreams, symbolism and charms. Most likely this will eventually become a colour piece and possibly a print. More updates about that in the near future.

Louise Baker Dressage Logo Commission.
Recently I was commissioned to design the logo for a horse dressage company based in Dorset, creating concepts and illustrating the final design. It was agreed that we should mix elements of the company’s business into the logo, keeping it simple and memorable. I suggested we take the traditional horse shoe and format it into a circular shape, in an attempt to escape some of the clichés associated with that symbol. It was completed by adding beveling and nail holes, the centre focus being that of the horse striding into position.
Designing and illustrating the LBD logo was a lot of fun, i spent many an hour trying to perfect the look of the horse and capture the spirit of these large beasts. This logo has evolved some what over the course of its design, but with helpful input and reference photos from the client it has now become something i hope becomes truly associated with the business. The logo will eventually be used in future newspaper marketing and as decals for vehicles
Shown below is the completed version of the logo.

Progress: Electrical Supply to the Studio.
We now have a electricity source plumbed in to the studio, which is great news as it enables me to start screenprinting again and gives me a large space to work in. Other than a few minor cosmetic changes everything is pretty much ready to roll.
Here’s one final photo documenting this lengthy project. The picture below shows the electrical cable ready to be fed into the position of a plug.

The Finishing Touch.
Getting electricity to the studio looks to be nearing its final stages. Currently my friends are working on putting in various plugs and lights inside the building, while some outside rendering and a new set of steps are being worked on. I look to be using the building within the coming month, which means I can finally start screen-printing again.

Updates.
Currently working on adding a new web store, which I aim to make live within the next month or two, I am also adding the odd tweak here and there where needed. As a side note I’m currently working on a few new illustrations, but more on that nearer the time…

Preview: Three Print Set.

The Breakthrough.
After many failed attempts and bad weather setbacks, there has finally been sucess in breaking through the debris and feeding the electrical cabling through the tiny drill hole for which it was created. Backfilling the land is the next laborious task.
Below are some photo’s of recent progress.
The below photo shows layers of sand added to the trench in order to cushion any potential damage to the cable.
The all important fuse box, clips and light switches..
